Mooncalendars
Since 2020. Every year. I make a mooncalendar.
-20 and -24 I drew an illustration for the calendar specifically but other times I just used a drawing I already had, because I didn’t have time to draw one.
Originally I was inspired to make a calendar by other artists and crafters in Instagram who were making them.
I especially love the idea of printing one on a tea towel since I remember my grandmother having kitchen towels that had calendars on them and traditions are best.
I also like the ones that are carved on lino and printed by hand.
So many possibilities.
Mine are digitally made, based on scanned graphite drawing or illustration.
I especially love weird fonts and colors.
Towards the end of the year, usually around this time, I start tinkering my calendar and then before christmas I sell it to my friends and also complete strangers.
It’s makes a funky little christmas present for example and lately I’ve also added the exact times for new and full moons so it’s also good for witches.
